3-way Restriction System

At the core of the M1400HD is Advantage Feeders’ precise 3‑way restriction system, which lets you control feed intake and encourage healthy feeding behaviour while preventing waste.

The saliva restriction system requires stock to lick feed from a groove through the Adjuster Guard, naturally supporting a little and often feeding approach. This controls ration size, reduces overeating and bullying, reduces feed wastage, and ensures all animals have fair, controlled access.

Benefits of controlled feeding

  • Improve feed conversion efficiency
  • Support consistent weight gain
  • Reduce grain wastage and input costs
  • Maintain healthier rumen function

This feeder is built with reinforced stainless-steel troughs, upper adjusters, and solid lower adjusters for long-term durability, complemented by two standard adjuster guards with dedicated storage when not in use. It features two 1.5” SHS stands and offers both sheep and cattle height options, constructed from Z275 sheet metal with stainless steel and galvanised dipped components. The 45-degree angled trough, deep 4.3’ trough depth, and rain protection reinforcing improve feed access and durability, while sidewall bracing, three adjuster braces, and dual tab adjuster braces enhance structural strength.

Feed control is supported by four locking bolts on the lower adjusters, an adjuster guard locking system, and a dual-positioned adjuster guard for dusty feeds. Additional features include two 3” round sight glasses, volume stickers, a painted notch system on the adjusters, and a 7.8’ trough length. The feeder is designed for convenience with adjustable height in around 30 minutes, supplied cleaning tools and tube spanner with secure storage, and two new tyres for mobility.

Practical additions such as sidewall gutters for drainage, reinforced roof edges, optional mineral attachment and lamb creep feeding panel, along with a 2 year warranty, standard operating procedure, user guide, and available trial reports, make it a well-rounded and user-friendly solution.
